Electoral Officials At District Levels To Be Given 24 Hour Police Protection Following violence that characterised the transfer of votes in the Eastern and Brong Ahafo Regions, the IGP, John Kudalor has directed that electoral officials be given 24 hour protection at the district level. Speaking on GBC's current Affairs Programme ‘Talking Point’, the Director of Operations at the Ghana Police Service, Chief Superintendent Dr Benjamin Agordzo said the violence was due to lack of collaboration between players in the electoral process. He said the focus of the police is how to prevent such occurrences in future. The Head of Communications at the EC Eric Dzakpasu said the EC will September 26 resume the transfer of votes in Asunafo South and Suhum. The Greater Accra Regional Director of the NCCE, Lucille Annan expressed disappointment at the turn of events in the Eastern and Brong Ahafo Regions. She said the NCCE will re-strategise in its campaign to ensure peace before, during and after the elections. GBC
