Kantamanto Railway Workers Strike Over Salary Arrears

Workers of the Accra Central section of the railway industry precisely, Kantamanto, have laid down their tools until further notice.

In an interview the General Secretary of the Railway Workers Union, Godwill Marmah, explained that the workers have not been paid their salaries since January.
 
He said internally generated funds have been used as source of capital to workers from January to June.
 
He added that the Labour Commission as well as other stakeholders involved in finding a solution to problems facing the sector has not made any effort towards addressing the grievances of the workers.
