The Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP),  John Boadu has picked the presidential nomination forms on behalf of the party’s presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission to contest in the 2016 presidential polls.

This follows hours after the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho picked the forms on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.
 
Five presidential nominees have so far picked the nomination forms from the Electoral Commission in a bid to contest in the December 7 presidential elections.

The five are President Mahama who is contesting on the ticket of the NDC, Akua Donkor of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Kofi Akpaloo of the Independent People’s party (IPP), Akwasi Addai Odike of the United Progressive Party (UPP) and Nana Agyenim- Boateng of the United Front Party (UFP).

Presidential and parliamentary candidates are mandated to a filing fee of GH¢50,000 and GH¢10,000 respectively but some political parties have raised concerns with the pricing.
