Industrial activities pick up in Volta Region In Volta Region, a number of factories have sprung up in the region for processing of raw materials into finished products contrary to claims that factories are relocating. Apart from the textile factory at Juapong, a cement factory is operating at Aflao, and a Bricks factory for affordable housing at Adidome in the central Tongu District. A tomato processing plant has also been set up at Anloga and has the capacity to produce tomatoes grown in the Volta region and beyond. Others are an Ethanol distillation factory at Hodzo in Ho. In an interview the Minister in charge of Public Private Partnership, Alhaji Rashid Pelpou, said he is not surprised about the upsurge of industrial activity in the country especially in the Volta Region. Alhaji Pelpuo said industries are shaping up and companies are not re-locating to the surprise of skeptics who claim businesses are moving out to neighbouring countries as a result of the energy crisis.
