GNFS launches project to help curb domestic fires The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) says domestic fire is the leading category of fire outbreaks recorded in the country for the past five years. These home fires account for 40.8% of all fires recorded. It noted that the underlying factors to these domestic fires are negligence, carelessness and ignorance. These, the service describes as worrying especially with the loss of lives. The Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Kwame Kwarteng made this known at a stakeholders meeting on Home Fire Certification Project in Accra. The project also known as "Dum gya" is to drive home the need to adopt and put in place measures in homes to avoid fire outbreaks. GBC
