Enhancing The Media Encounter The Ministry of Communications is to enhance its encounter with the media and the citizenry through its Meet-the-Press Series. The move being championed by the Information Services Department is to build on the success of the program and expand its reach, using social media and making a strong presence on the internet. The Meet-the-Press Series which is in its twentieth year this year served as an avenue for present and past government agencies to inform the nation about national projects and programs. The Meet-the-Press Series has survived under four governments, under the Fourth Republic. The program affords the media the opportunity to engage duty bearers on projects, programs and the general activities of Ministries, Department and Agencies. Is the program making the desired impact or has it fallen into what some termed the propaganda trap? Correspondent Dominic Hlordzi caught-up with the Head of the Media Liaison Unit at the Ministry of Communications and the Information Services Department David Owusu-Amoah and he finds out the relevance of the programme and how it has fared over the years. Take a listen to Dominic’s report on the Meet-the-Press Series. GBC
