President Mahama Inaugurates new net mending wharf for fishermen in Tema President John Mahama, has inaugurated a new net mending wharf for the fishermen in the Tema Harbour. The wharf is a platform that enables the fisher folk to mend their nets. The old one that was being used cannot accommodate the growing fisher population. President Mahama, said government recognises the important role of fishers to the country's economy. He said government is providing outboard motors, fishing nets and head pans and soft loans to facilitate their work. President Mahama, commended the Ghana Ports and Harbours for the initiative to replace the Mending wharf. He said that should serve as encouragement to other State owned Enterprises to undertake beneficiary projects on their own balance sheet. President Mahama is on a tour of the Tema port as part of activities he will visit the Karpower barge and inspect the port expansion site. GBC
