Address challenges that stifle democratic governance – Kofi Annan 

The Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Kofi Annan, has called on African Leaders to address the challenges that characterise democratic governance on the continent. 

Mr Annan, who is a former UN Secretary General, said education is the fundamental basis of healthy societies and the future of the youth can be compromised if not handled properly. 

Mr Annan was speaking at the opening of a three-day conference of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), in Accra.
