The steps are also aimed at addressing the inconvenience motorists face on the Mallam-Winneba road at Machigeni. The Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahama Ayariga, said this when he appeared on the Floor of Parliament to respond to a question which stood in the name of the MP for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro Bright Demordzi. The MP wanted to know the plans of the Ministry to stop soil erosion at the Bortianor Weija Hill which continues to cause inconvenience and danger to motorists on the Mallam-Winneba road. Mr Ayariga told the MPs that the Ga West Municipal Assembly has proposed some solutions to the problem. The Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahama Ayariga spoke about the role of the Environmental Protection Agency, the Ghana Chamber of Mines and other agencies in stabilizing the Weija ridge.
