Obama joins Clinton on campaign trail next week

US President Barack Obama is set to join Hillary Clinton in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Tuesday, for his debut appearance on the 2016 campaign trail. 

They "will discuss building on the progress they have made and their vision for America.  

Their first joint campaign event was scheduled for June 15 in Wisconsin, but was postponed due to the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.  

President Obama is expected to campaign heavily for Mrs. Clinton, his former rival in the 2008 Democratic primaries before she worked closely with him as Secretary of State during his first term.
