US ambassador to UN Samantha Power's convoy kills Cameroon boy US ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power has expressed sorrow after her motorcade accidentally killed a seven-year-old boy in Cameroon. Miss Power was in Cameroon to show US support for the campaign against militant Islamist group Boko Haram when the accident occurred. An armoured jeep knocked down the boy as he tried to cross a road when the convoy was heading towards a refugee camp. Although the boy received immediate medical care from an ambulance in the convoy, he died shortly afterwards. Miss Power said she has met with the boy's family to offer profound condolences but US officials could not say whether their government will pay compensation to the boy's family living in a village in northern Cameroon.
