Political parties satisfied with EC's preparations ahead of  November Polls

Political parties at the Inter Party Advisory Committee IPAC, say they are pleased with the  EC's preparations towards the limited registration scheduled for the 28th of this month to the 10th of next month.  

The CPP`s Director of Elections, Kwabena Bonfeh said the meeting was satisfactory, but was not happy with calls by some political parties for the validation of the voter`s register.  

He said the issue has never come up at any IPAC meeting and therefore those calling for validation should be in the best position to explain what it is. 

That was the CPP Director of Elections, Kwabena Bonfeh.  

The Director of Elections of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo said the party is happy with the Commission`s preparation towards the limited registration. 

According to him,the NDC suggested that the Commission should work with the Births and Deaths registry to get documents on those who have passed on so their names could be expunged from the register.  

Mr. Ofosu Ampofo also said the issue of validation has never come up at any IPAC meeting. 

The Party Chairman of the PPP, Allotey Brew Hammond said the PPP had wanted the EC to use the National Identification Authority database to prune the voters register of minors, but their advise was not taken by the EC and now time is far spent for that exercise..  

He said the PPP is ready for the limited voters registration.
