Salaga: Severe rainstorm displaces more than one thousand residents

More than one thousand people have been rendered homeless following a severe rainstorm that hit Salaga in the East Gonja District of the Northern Region Tuesday. 

Property worth thousands of cedis including 187 residential facilities and six institutions were destroyed. 

The affected institutions include the District Post Office, 31st Junior High Schools and the Imania primary school.  

Some of the victims who spoke to Radio Ghana appealed for urgent support to alleviate their plight. 

Our Correspondent Mohammed Fugu reports that the entire Salaga Township is in a state of mourning over what has been described as the worst disaster in the history of the area.
