Italian Prime Minister Matheo Renzi Addresses Ghana's Parliament

The Italian Prime Minister Matheo Renzi says dialogue and democracy interwoven with rich cultural practices and the defense of individual right are the antidote to terrorism. 

He said values of compassion, inclusion and unity should be upheld in every society as measure to dissuade people from engaging in terrorism. Prime Minister Renzi stated this when he addressed Ghana’s Parliament on Tuesday.

He said Ghana should be proud of been a benchmark of democracy in Africa and the World.

Prime Minister Renzi also touched on the dangerous migration of citizens from Africa to Europe in search of greener pastures. 

He said the Italian government values human dignity hence it’s continues rescue of immigrants on the sea. 

He asked that Africa governments should make the needed efforts to give opportunities to their citizens.

He ended his statement by quoting a message encoded in an Adinkra symbol to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Ghana and Italy.

He has since left for home.
