Minority Challenges Government To Show Commitment To Fight Narcotics

The Minority in Parliament says government must do more to show that it is committed to the fight against narcotics. 

Explaining the rationale behind the Minority's news conference on Wednesday, Deputy Minority Leader, Dominic Nitiwul, says there are a lot of begging questions about how Ms Nayele Ametefe managed to traffic 12 kilos of cocaine through the Kotoka International Airport without detection.

Meanwhile, government has brushed aside issues raised by the NPP minority in parliament regarding the arrest of Nayele Ametefe for trafficking 12 kg of cocaine out of Ghana to the United Kingdom.  

Addressing the media in Accra, the minority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu called on government to disclose all the facts about the matter. 

But in a quick response, Deputy Minister for Communications, Felix Kwakye-Ofosu told Radio Ghana that all the questions raised by the minority have been adequately answered. 

He described the minority's news conference as an attempt aimed at political equalisation.
