Police Assure Safety During Christmas

The Police say they have put in place firm measures to make the roads safe, to prevent fatalities during the Christmas season.

Police Chief Superintendent, Peter Gyimah, who is the Ashanti Regional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU), said they will show strong presence and visibility on the roads.

They will as well deploy radar guns, breathalyzers and tyre gauge to make sure that the right things are done.

He told the GNA that no effort would be spared to help drivers to operate within the traffic regulations.

This in his view would help prevent innocent lives from being lost, and people from getting maimed or having to live with permanent deformities.

The MTTU Commander also spoke of plans to step up safety education campaign for drivers to check indiscipline and recklessness.

He encouraged passengers to be bold to report drivers who show careless disregard for safety.
