9 More Arrested In  Nayele's Cocaine Burst At Heathrow Airport



Three persons including a foreign service officer have been arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court charged with abetment of crime.  

The suspects are before the court in connection with the exportation of narcotic drugs to the United Kingdom by one Nayele Ametefe alias Ruby Adu Gyamfi who was arrested at the Heathrow International Airport on the 10th of this month for possessing 12 point 5 kilogrammes of cocaine.  

The suspects are Abel Ashitey Armah an officer from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ahmed Abubakar, a protocol officer and Theophilus Kissi, a civil servant all stationed at the Kotoka International Airport.  

Their plea was reserved and have been remanded into custody to re-appear on the 8th of next month.
  
Narrating the facts to the court, presided over by Francis Obiri, an Assistant State Attorney Richard Gyambiby said the foreign service  officer is in charge of the VVIP lounge at the Airport.  

According to the Officer, one Alhaji Daud on the 9th of this month contacted him to facilitate the passage of Nayele Ametefe and two other ladies through the VVIP lounge.  

He in turn instructed Abubakar and Kissi, to facilitate their passage and boarding of a British airways aircraft.  

Mr Gyambiby said, preliminary investigations indicate that both Abubakar and Kissi facilitated the  passage of the three ladies by processing their passports and are said to have carried the luggage of the said ladies into the aeroplane for departure to the United Kingdom.
