Mason jailed for defilement

A forty-five year old mason, Alidu Fuseini, has been jailed fifteen years for defiling a fourteen year old girl.

According to the facts of the case, Fuseini occasionally had sex with the victim and went on to warn her against interacting with the opposite sex.

On the 22nd of last month, the victim’s father was resting in his room when Fuseini chased the girl into the room and beat her up mercilessly.

The victim's father asked her what had happened, and she told him that Fuseini had been having sex with her and had therefore warned her not to chat with any man.

She explained further that the convict saw her chatting with her classmate and that resulted in the beatings. Fuseini pleaded guilty to defilement.

The judge, Patricia Quansah, in her judgment said the age difference between Fuseini and the victim should have deterred him from committing the act.
