Liberia chasing Ebola now

Liberia's President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has hailed Liberians' efforts in fighting the country's worst ever hemorrhagic fever outbreak, saying Ebola was chasing them, but today they are chasing Ebola.

She said this when she addressed a ceremony to welcome a Dutch aid ship bringing medical supplies from European countries to Monrovia.

The Head-of-state welcomed the dramatic drop in new cases, which has killed about 3,000 Liberians and another 2,500 in neighbouring Guinea and Sierra Leone this year.

President Sirleaf urged citizens to redouble their efforts to achieve a target of zero new cases by Christmas.
