President Mahama Directs District Assemblies to Enforce By-laws on Sanitation Government is to roll out a Pilot Project that will offer soft loans to landlords to build places of convenience for their tenants. The move by government is to put a stop to open defecation which results in the outbreak of communicable diseases. President John Mahama, who announced this at the Kloyosikplemi Festival of the people of Somanya has however directed district assemblies to enforce by-laws on open defecation and refuse building permits to homes that do not make provision for toilet facilities.
