Mixed reaction to 2015 Budget Statement

A ranking member on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Finance, Kweku Kwarteng has expressed disappointment about the silence of the budget on dealing with the energy crisis.

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr Kwarteng said the budget statement did not explain how the power outages will be resolved.

He was reacting to the 2015 budget statement presented yesterday to Parliament.

But Deputy Minister of Finance, Mrs Monarh Quartey insists the budget will help stabilize fiscal discipline and raise extra revenue for development.
