John Gyapong elected as NDC Volta Chair, Accra NDC retains Ade Coker, Central elects Allotey Jacobs A former MP for Akan, John Gyapong Cudjoe, has been elected Volta Regional Chairman of the NDC. He polled 176 to beat his closest contender, Mawutor Agbavitor who had 101 votes. Former MCE for Ho Central, Captain Mfodwo, had six votes with the Chairman of the Energy Commission, Dr. Kwame Ampofo getting five. Former MP, Kosi Kedem polled one, Simon Amegashie-Viglo had 108 votes to beat Gordon Akpadie who had 45 for the secretaryship. Former Deputy Minister for the Region, Henry Ametefe had 180 votes to be elected Regional Organiser. Egypt Kobla Kudofo was elected Youth Organiser with 49 votes. The treasurer position went to Simon Baka with Mercy Kuada emerging the Women's Organiser. The General Secretary of the Party, Johnson Asiedu Nketsiah swore-in the new executive and urged them to co-opt more women on to the committee for it to be more gender balanced. In Greater Accra region, Joseph Kobina Ade Coker, was on Saturday re-elected at the party's regional executive polls. Ade Coker polled 157 votes to beat Daniel Amartey Mensah and Stephen Akwetey who had 103 and 52 votes respectively. Other elected executives were Regional Secretary: Victor Quarshie Assistant Secretary: Patricia Addy Regional Organizer: Anthony Nukpenu Assistant Regional Organizer: Maxwell Ofosu Treasurer: Alhaji Yahaya Kundow Deputy Treasurer: Alhaji Haruna Seidu Propaganda Secretary: Jerry Johnson Deputy Propaganda Secretary: Francis Nartey In the Central Region, Allotey Jacobs became the new NDC Chair when he beat the incumbent, Samuel Adu-Yeboah in a keenly contested ballot. Allotey polled 127 votes against 79 by the incumbent.
