Imani Ghana Justifies Decision To Sue Attorney General Imani Ghana is demanding that the Auditor General gives an account of the use of its constitutional powers to investigate corrupt acts in the country. It says it finds it difficult to understand why the Auditor General with all the resources available to the office fails to exercise its power on the many acts of corruption identified. The Vice President of Imani Ghana, Kofi Bentil explaining why it has resorted to suing the Auditor General to Radio Ghana said it wants to know what the Auditor General has used it powers for, and to what effect. Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister for Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, says President Mahama has proved beyond mere words his commitment to fighting corruption in the country. Citing investigations conducted on the National Service Secretariat on the orders of President Mahama and other steps taken by the President to retrieve monies that were wrongly paid, Mr Kwakye Ofosu insisted that these and other visible actions taken by the government shows that the President is fighting corruption. Speaking to Radio Ghana, Felix Kwakye Ofosu expressed shock that there are still claims that government is not being proactive in fighting corruption.
