Two-minute silence held to mark World War One armistice

A two-minute silence was held around the UK to mark the anniversary of the World War One armistice.

A number of ceremonies also took place to remember those who died during that war and all conflicts since then.

Veterans and dignitaries gathered at the Tower of London, against the backdrop of an art installation featuring more than 800 thousand ceramic poppies.

Services were held in military bases, churches and schools around the UK.
