President Mahama Confers With Executive Board of World Food Programme in Rome President John Dramani Mahama, in his capacity as ECOWAS Chair has appealed to the World Food Programme WFP, to provide food supplies to families and communities affected by the deadly Ebola virus in West Africa. He said some of these families are devastated and are not able to farm to feed their families and for income. President Mahama, made the appeal when he met with the Executive Board of the World Food Programme in Rome, Italy Tuesday morning. President Mahama thanked the WFP for the many humanitarian programmes it has been running particularly in Sub -Saharan Africa. Ghana was last year rewarded in a ceremony in Rome for achieving success in Poverty and hunger reduction by the Programme. President Mahama, used the moment to also brief the meeting on Ghana's efforts in the Agriculture sector to boost food security. GBC
