Resolve succession issue, Mugabe told

Zimbabwean analysts have warned that the country's economy would continue to deteriorate unless President, Robert Mugabe resolves the succession issue currently rocking his Zanu-PF party.

The analysts warned that Mugabe and his party’s increasingly violent factional and succession wars would sink Zimbabwe’s ailing economy to levels witnessed five years ago.

This comes as Zanu-PF continues to be embroiled in a succession battle that has torn the party apart, with two distinct factions allegedly being led by Vice President, Joice Mujuru and Justice Minister, Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The two are said to be locked in a bitter war to take over from Mugabe when he retires.
