Security man remanded in prison for chopping off daughter's fingers A forty-nine year old security man has been remanded in prison custody for cutting all ten finger tips of his fourteen year old daughter with blade after physically assaulting her. The accused, James Divine Frans, is also alleged to have smeared the wounds with powdered pepper. Frans accused the victim of stealing his biscuits which she denied. According to the facts read in court, Frans occasionally accuses his daughter of stealing his biscuits. At about 5am yesterday, he again accused her and when she denied, Frans assaulted her. The victim's stepmother who could not stand the girl's ordeal rushed to call the victim's uncle who rescued her and lodged a complaint with the Adabraka Police. The accused admitted the offence in his caution statement but has pleaded not guilty to two counts of causing harm and physical abuse. GBC
