CAGD Gives Employees Deadline to Submit Relevant Documents The Controller and Accountant General Department(CAGD) has asked Heads of MDAs /MMDAs and employees whose salaries were suspended from the mechanized payroll due to zero bank account numbers in September and October, 2014 to submit a standard form and attach a requisite information to the relevant District offices of the Auditor General in person for validation before their salaries could be restored onto the payroll. The CAGD says copies of the standard forms could be obtained at the various District offices of the Auditor General, the Regional and District offices of CAGD or downloaded from the CAGD website on www.cagd.gov.gh This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Controller and Accountant-General copied to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in Accra today. The statement said failure to submit the required information on the due dates would result in deletion of their names from the payroll. According to the statement, in September and October 2014, the Controller and Accountant General’s Department, as part of measures to clean the payroll data, suspended the salaries of employees who did not have bank account numbers. Below Is The Full Statement: CONTROLLER AND ACCOUNTANT-GENERAL’S DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS BY EMPLOYEES WITHOUT BANK ACCOUNT NUMBERS The Controller and Accountant General Department wishes to remind Heads of MDAs /MMDAs and employees whose salaries were suspended from the mechanized payroll due to zero bank account numbers in September and October, 2014 to submit the required information on the due dates indicated below for their names to be restored onto the payroll. Employees are to note that failure to submit the required information on the due dates would result in deletion of their names from the payroll. It will be recalled that in September and October 2014, the Controller and Accountant General’s Department, as part of measures to clean the payroll data, suspended the salaries of employees who did not have bank account numbers. Affected employees were required to complete a standard form and attach the requisite information and submit same to the relevant District offices of the Auditor General in person for validation before their salaries could be restored onto the payroll. The instruction further indicated that employees, whose salaries were suspended in September, 2014 were expected to submit the necessary information by 15th October, 2014. FINAL DEADLINE It has now been decided that employees whose salaries were suspended in September, 2014 should submit the requisite information by 14th November, 2014 while those whose salaries were suspended in October, 2014 are to submit the information by 15th December, 2014. Employees are reminded that failure to submit the required information on the due dates (14th November or 15th December, 2014 respectively) would compel the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to permanently delete the names from the payroll without further opportunity for restoration.
