Five Companies Donate Towards 2014 Farmers' Day Celebrations

Five companies have presented cheques and items worth GH¢ 91,500.00 to support the National Farmers day celebration slated for December 5 this year. 

The companies are Exim Guarantee, Wynca, Cocas Impex limited, Interplast and Obuoba Fm. 

Receiving the items on behalf of the planning committee in Accra, Deputy Minister of food and Agriculture in charge of crops, Dr Ahmed Alhassan, lauded the efforts of these organisations saying the major challenge confronting the committee is funding. 

He said government alone cannot meet the GH¢ 5 million budget for the programme. 

He however called on Agri-businesses and corporate bodies to support the Ministries of Food and Agriculture and Fisheries and Aquaculture in their bid to honour farmers who have worked tirelessly towards the upliftment of the Agricultural sector.
