MDAs urged to collaborate with private sector to sustain National Sanitation Day

The Dean of Research and Study of the Institute of Local Government, Eric Oduro Osae, has asked Municipal and District Assemblies to collaborate with the private sector to sustain the newly instituted National Sanitation Day.

He suggested that it should be done weekly and incorporated into the national plan and budget.

Mr Osae also appealed to parents to teach their children on the need to keep their environment clean and also change their attitude towards the environment.

Mr Osae said this on Radio Ghana's Current Affairs Programme, “Focus”, which discussed the National Sanitation Day which was observed on the 1st of November with clean up exercises.

Also on the programme was an Environmental Specialist, Edward Mba, who suggested the structuring of a national sanitation programme to make it sustainable.

Mr Mba urged all to join hands to clean the environment to create wealth.
