Former CEO of Unilever says public sector problems are due to poor definition of HR management roles

A Former CEO of Unilever Ghana, Ishmael Yamson says many of the problems that bedevil the public sector are because the role of human resource management is not clearly defined.

To him, over the decades, the practice has been viewed as operational, rather than a functional one.

This situation, he contends has deprived the public sector of the needed growth.

Mr. Yamson made the observation when he addressed the second conference of Human Resource Management Practitioners in the Public Service, in Accra.
