MMDAs asked to comply with directive from Gov’t to organize clean-up campaigns

The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council has directed all  metropolitan, municipal and District Assemblies in the region to comply with the directive by government to organize clean-up campaigns within their  jurisdictions on the first Saturday of every month, starting from tomorrow  November 1.

Addressing the media in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Samuel Sarpong asked MMDAs in the region to take advantage of the programme to keep their surroundings clean.

Dr. Sarpong urged the MMDCEs to take the lead and also involve stakeholder organizations such as security agencies, religious organizations, fun clubs, traders associations as well as community members in the exercise.
