Put appropriate mechanisms in place to address social issues

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur says there is the need for prompt response to emerging social issues in the country.

She said streetism, child abuse and violence against women can be reduced if appropriate mechanisms are put in place to address such issues.

Addressing a forum of experts in Social Welfare Service in Accra, the Minister said the deliberations will help sharpen and redirect activities of the Welfare Service and bring it in line with the Ministry's extended mandate.
