National House of Chiefs appeal to Public Sector Workers to return to work The National House of Chiefs has appealed to all Public Sector Workers on strike over their second tier pension fund to call off the strike while it engages government to resolve the impasse between them. In a statement signed by the Acting Registrar of the House, A.K. Essien, the Chiefs described the impact of the strike especially in the educational and health sectors as unquantifiable. The statement also reminded workers about assurances given by the Ministry of Labour and Employment Relations to fully disclose the status of the scheme by the close of the week, after which negotiations are expected to continue to arrive at a lasting solution to the problem. It further called for an open deliberation to ensure that such problems do not re-surface. GBC
