National Agenda to guide political parties advocated

The Chairman of the National Peace Council, Professor Emmanuel Asante has reiterated the call for Ghana to draw a national plan or agenda.

He said this when done will guide political parties to draw their manifestoes in line with the national agenda.

Speaking at a symposium at the University of Professional Studies Accra, Professor Asante said until a national plan is drawn, the country will continue to witness change in programme every now and then when a new political party comes into power.

Meanwhile a former Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Professor Agyemang Badu Akosa is calling for the scrap of regional bloc on the continent because they are not serving the purpose for which they have been established.

He said the abolishing of the ECOWAS and the other blocs will pave way for the strengthening of the AU to champion the development of the continent.

Speaking at the symposia, he said the AU can do well if vibrant and critical as well as dedicated and committed leaders are identified to spearhead the development of the continent.
