Zambian President Micheal Sata dies in London Zambian President Michael Sata has died in London, where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness. Reports from Zambia say the cabinet will soon meet on the development. President Sata died at King Edward hospital, Beaumont St, Central London where he had been hospitalised since last week. At his death-bed was his wife, three of his sons including Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata. Just two days earlier, he had checked out of the Harley Street Clinic to receive private medical care in a central London hotel room. The president’s health has been the subject of numerous conflicting reports in the media and contradictory statements by government officials for many months. Recently the president was unable to address the UN General Assembly, and was forced to depart Zambia just two days before the 50th anniversary of independence. Source: Reuters
