Ghanaians asked to cherish Akosombo Hydro generating station as national asset

The visiting Prime Minister of Guinea Bissau, Domingos Pereira, has urged Ghanaians to cherish the Akosombo Hydro Generating Plant and appreciate the workers there.

He praised Ghana's first President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, for first conceiving the idea of constructing the Akosombo dam to generate energy for the country's development.

The Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur accompanied Prime Minister Pereira on a tour of the plant.
