Ebola crisis: Mali confirms first infection case A two-year-old girl in Mali has been diagnosed with Ebola, making her the first confirmed case in Mali. WHO spokeswoman, Yvette Bivigou said the girl was brought to Mali from neighbouring Guinea, where the outbreak is believed to have started. The girl, whose father died of Ebola, was taken to hospital in Kayes after a nurse noticed she had sympotms of Ebola. Mali's Health Ministry Spokeswoman, Markatie Daou, said a test confirmed the fears. The girl is still in the hospital in Kayes together with members of her family who might have been exposed to the virus. Mali is now the sixth West African country to be affected by the latest Ebola outbreak - however Senegal and Nigeria have since been declared virus-free by the WHO. BBC
