Ghana drop in Fifa world rankings to 35th Ghana drop two places down in the latest edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released Thursday. The Black Stars are now placed at 35th in the October edition of the ranking. On the African continent, Ghana are now placed fifth, Algeria remain on top followed by Ivory Coast, Tunisia and Cape Verde Islands in that order. World champions Germany have held on to the top spot despite a difficult start to their UEFA EURO 2016 qualification campaign followed by Argentina and Colombia. 141 matches have been taken into account for the October edition of the world ranking, exactly the same number as last month. Of those matches, 49 were European qualifiers, 28 were African qualifiers and ten were CONCACAF qualifiers, plus there were 54 friendlies. In total, 667 matches have been taken into account over the course of the year so far. GBC
