Lack Of Supervision Blamed For Corrupt Activities In Ghana

The Acting Head of the Civil Service, Nana Agyekum Dwamena says lack of supervision of agencies and departments under the ministries has contributed to corrupt activities in Ghana.

Mr Dwamena noted that Civil Servants such as Chief Directors have relegated their core functions of supervising and monitoring government policies to the background.

They now chase fuel coupons and procurement vouchers.

Speaking at the induction of newly appointed Chief Directors for the Ministries in Accra, Mr Dwamena said Chief Directors also portray political leanings instead of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism aimed at defending government plans and policies.
