Ghana marks World Egg Day

To whip up public desire to eat eggs and to commemorate World Egg Day, poultry farmers in the Ashanti region have distributed free eggs to residents.

While distributing the eggs, members of the Ashanti Regional Poultry Farmers Association undertook a three hour route march through some principal streets in Kumasi to create awareness on the importance of eggs to the human body.

The association in all its placards sought to clear the air that eggs does not increase cholesterol but rather contains many of the essential minerals that the human body requires for healthy growth.
