Zongo Chiefs urged to promote good sanitation practices

The Zongo Chief of Tatale, Alhaji Inusah Sittu, has called on his colleague Zongo chiefs to promote good sanitation in their communities to avoid outbreak of Cholera and other related diseases. 

He said good sanitation can be sustained by organising regular clean-up exercises and ensuring that every individual keep the surroundings and homes clean.

He said it is always important for chiefs to co-operate with Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies and Environmental and Sanitation Units to punish those who fail to keep their environment clean.

Alhaji Inusah made the call when he addressed a large number of Muslims at the Tatale L.A. Primary school Park in Tatale/Sangule District of the Northern Region to mark Eid Ul-Adha.

Alhaji Inusah appealed to Muslims to use the annual celebration to raise funds to support the needy in society instead of only distributing food and meat to them.

Touching on Ebola, he advised the people to always ensure that people with fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, intense weakness, headache, and sore throat, blood spots in the eyes among others are rushed to the nearest health facilities.

He warned them to avoid contract with animals like bats, monkeys, porcupines, antelopes, grass cutters among others.

Alhaji Inusah appealed to Muslims, Christians and all Ghanaians to continue to pray to Allah for the disease not to enter the country.

He commended the District Security Committee, chiefs and people of Tatale/Sangule district for the peace and unity prevailing in the area.

He said every Sunday has been set aside for a clean-up exercise for all Muslims communities in the district to ensure clean environment particularly during this rainy season.
