The Daily Graphic calls for importation of wood on a larger scale to safeguard the forest and provide raw material for the construction industry. According to paper, the destruction of vegetation will not only affect logging and wood furniture but also the flora and fauna thereby disturbing the environment. The paper acknowledged government's effort in addressing these developments as a task force has been put in place to check the activities of illegal loggers and chain saw operators. The Graphic however thinks the task force has not been effective. 

The Ghanaian Times urged President Mahama to lead the way in strengthening institutions mandated to fight corruption and also ensure fiscal discipline in the country. This, according to the paper is the surest way to build a strong and robust economy, which would no more need the propping of the IMF. The paper notes that corruption is breeding impunity, undermining vital governance institutions and making honesty and hard work unattractive. The Times is impressed with the President's confidence that the current bailout would be the last programme with the IMF, but remains skeptical because of the high level of corruption.
