20,000 workers on government payroll not paid September salaries 20,000 workers on government payroll were not paid their September salaries. The Acting Deputy Controller, Wisdom Komla Messah who disclosed this to Radio Ghana attributed the non-payment to employees not having valid bank account. The bank account numbers are necessary to facilitate the crediting of employee's salaries to prevent fraud. The Controller and Accountant General's Department has therefore given them up to the 15th of October to regularise their accounts. Mr. Messah announced that September salaries of public servants with valid bank accounts have already been credited into the accounts of employees by respective banks. Mr. Messah asked employees whose salaries have been suspended due to lack the valid bank account to report to the District Office of the Audit General for verification. He gave the assurance that all employees who submit their information to the Department by 15 October will be paid the arrears and October salaries together. GBC
