NPP cleared to conduct October 18 National Delegates Congress

The Fast Track High Court in Accra has thrown out an Application for injunction brought against the NPP by two people claiming to be members of the party.

The plaintiffs, Rexford Agyei Frimpong and Oppon Kyekyeku instituted a court action against the NPP seeking a court order restraining the party from going ahead with its national delegates congress on the 18th of this month.

Presiding judge Justice Mustapha Habib Logoh dismissed the application because the plaintiffs failed to show their capacity as bonafide members of the NPP.

He added that the two also failed to exhaust the available internal channels to seek redress within the party.  The court noted that the NPP had at all times maintained that its Disciplinary and Grievances Committee is available at all levels to its members. 

The court has thus by its ruling cleared the NPP to go ahead with its National Delegates Congress as the plaintiffs failed to satisfy the court as to why they warrant the injunction they sought.
