US confident in preventing spread of Ebola after confirmation of first Ebola case

US health experts have expressed confidence in their ability to prevent Ebola from spreading in the country, following the first confirmed case of the virus.

The director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Tom Frieden said the bottom line is that health experts should remain confident that the US can contain any spread of Ebola on its territory.  

He said systems are in place to prevent any spread of Ebola adding that it requires meticulous and rigorous work.


The CDC boss said spreading of Ebola is possible through physical contact with patients body fluids, therefore current intensive effort is to identify anyone who may have had contact and would require monitoring for 21 days after the contact.
