Government welcomes innovation in the energy sector Vice –President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur is optimistic that complete, specialist and cost effective power generation is the way to go to solve the energy challenges in the country. He also said the earlier these natural measures of generating power are put in place in addition to hydro power plants for their electricity supplies the betterment for all Ghanaians. Vice-president Amissah-Arthur made these observations at a meeting with a delegation of Aggreco business men led by the Chief executive officer of the company, Jerome Ringo. Mr. Ringo said Aggreco has special interest in investing in Ghana’s energy sector to boost electricity supply. He said they have developed a technology that generates more power through rivers and streams. Mr Ringo said the technology is less costly does not need fuel and has a life span of 22 years and is portable and can be carried from place to place. He said the cost involved in comparing to Solar and Hydro is far cheaper. Aggreco install and operate power plants even to Rural or remote areas for electrification. the building up and installation takes between 6 and 8 months to start operations.
