Police assure effective security and protection in Ghana The Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Commander, Maxwell Atingane, says the Police Administration will continue to provide effective security and protection in the country. DCOP Atingane reiterated that the Police have adopted many strategies including intensification of mobile and foot patrols nationwide to combat crime. This, he said, will enable Ghanaians to undertake their legitimate pursuits without undue fear and any sense of insecurity. DCOP Atingane gave the assurance at the inauguration of a Police Station and Barracks at Nkwabeng in the Nkoranza South Municipality of Brong-Ahafo. The project, estimated at fifty thousand Ghana Cedis was initiated by the community whilst the former Member of Parliament for Nkoranza South, Kwame Ampofo Twumasi, during whose tenure the project was started, supported them with building materials. DCOP Atingane expressed appreciation for the hard work and efforts of the residents for self-financing the project. He advised the people to co-operate with the Police, by volunteering information on suspected criminals. He commended the Nkoranza Traditional Council and the Municipal Assembly for providing land for the project. GBC
