Expanded Programme on immunisation on mop-up to cover children not immunised in recent polio exercise

The Program Manager of the Expanded program on Immunisation, Dr George Bonsu, says the possibility of organising a mop-up exercise to immunize more children is high. 

He said reports reaching his office indicate that coverage of the immunisation this year is more than satisfactory.

However, based on reports from district officers, the program would organise a mop up to ensure that more children are captured in the exercise. 

He also asked parents whose children have not been immunised to send their children to the nearest health facility for the immunisation.

On what is referred to as the overseas areas that is Afram Plains in particular, Dr Bonsu said coverage will start from Tuesday according to the scheduled programme.
