Qatar loses hosting FIFA World Cup 2022 over concerns of extreme high temperature

A FIFA  official has disclosed that Qatar will not be hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup due to extremely high temperatures. 

The official, Theo Zwanziger claim  Medical experts say they will not accept responsibility for a World Cup taking place under such conditions. 

Mr Zwanziger said previously officials from Qatar said that it is possible to hold a World Cup in the country due to new cooling
technologies in stadiums and training areas that the country is
developing. 

But there are still many concerns over the health of the players and visiting fans.  

Mr. Zwanziger said they may be able to cool the stadiums but a World Cup does not take place only in stadiums Fans from around the world have to travel in the heat and the first life-threatening case could trigger an investigation by a state prosecutor. 

This he noted is not something that FIFA Executive members
want to answer for. 

Meanwhile FIFA has expressed an idea of potentially changing the usual dates of World Cups from June-July to winter dates to avoid the scorching summer temperatures. 

This could result in the schedule disruption of many domestic leagues.
